The Boys and Girls Choir
of Harlem
Danny Garcia, the
global walker for peace, raised $30,000
for The Boys and Girls Choir Of Harlem Alumni Ensemble to perform at the
2009 International Arts Festival in Shanghai.
For five days in July 2009, Danny walked
from Harlem's Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church to the
Chinatown Partnership office at 60 St.
James Place to symbolize the Choir's travel to China. The peace pole was
presented to Chinatown in a ceremony where the Choir performed.
Stops include the United Nations, President
Clinton's Harlem Office, the Apollo Theater, Times Square, Ground Zero, and
the Empire State Building.
